If
this building looks familiar, it should. It was designed
by the same man behind the Renaissance
Center in Detroit and Peachtree Plaza in Atlanta.
Once again, John Portman has expressed himself through
the use of reflective glittering cylinders rising
32-stories into the sky. There are four of these shafts
flanking a central hub. Together they hold more rooms
than any other hotel in Los Angeles, plus a huge atrium,
and an indoor lake.
