Manhattan Bridge (inspired by the bridge while under construction)
by Evangeline Avlonitis

Manhattan Bridge
draped
shrouded
clothed
in white
The Manhattan Bridge
stands alone
at night
Like a bride
like a birthday cake
In creamy white
against the nightscape
The support towers arch
fabric at her feet
Against the skyline
she stands
so replete
In her dressing gown
at the tip of town.
