N ot every building is going to be a star. But that's OK because the built environment needs ditch diggers, too... so to speak. In the world of downtown Los Angeles buildings, this parking garage digs ditches.
637 Wilshire Boulevard squats on its plot as a dark presence in a part of downtown already deprived of light by other buildings. To make things worse, its facade is covered by black glass panels, making things even darker. There are a few interesting architectural tidbits, though. Most notably the chamfered corners lined with light-colored stone which contrast with the rest of the facade. This feature is inherited from its father, the stately Aon Center to which it is connected by an underground tunnel.
