Rating: Five stars. I agree with you, Mary. I used to own a condominium at 2016 Main on the downtown side, and the old Holiday Inn, Central Bank, and Savoy Houston are three buildings that need to be redeveloped or demolished. I remember back in the mid-1970s, my family stayed in the Holiday Inn downtown, and it was a really nice hotel. After Days Inn took over, it started going downhill. When the Maharishi bought it, that's when it hit rock bottom. What horrid stories I heard. Squatters, safety violations, no air conditioning, and so on.I have my fingers crossed for a new investor to take possession and actually DO SOMETHING with it.

Rating: One star. It's sold again to New Era Hospitality! It was one of the three vacant buildings I'm sick of seeing around 2016 MAIN! It seems like it gets a little uglier every day and blocks the view of the city from my building. The last buyer who defaulted said he would turn it from a ugly duckling to a swan. I HOPE THEY MAKE IT BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE I HAVE TO LOOK AT IT!
